We All Live In A Yellow Submarine

Not much to say about this one...

Here's to HDR

Alright, so I didn't exactly get a second post done last week like I had mentioned I might. It turns out I wasn't generating these HDR photos right, and I couldn't figure out why.

Now, I've finally got a few decent ones, not crazy about them, but I figured I may as well post one. I took these photos the same morning as I took the previous photo posted, and this is the one I am happiest with.

This is in fact an HDR (that's High Dynamic Range) photo. It's not the best, but I plan to continue to practice and get a better eye at picking out scenes that would have good potential. Maybe some day I can be as good as this guy!

I didn't notice

that while I was taking these pictures my feet were standing in a couple inches of freezing water making my feet wet and cold. But, I did come out with a few interesting shots of how the water froze around these plants.

I got up early this past weekend to take some pictures of the sunrise at a spot that I drive by on the way to work thinking the exact same thing every day, "Man, one of these days I will get up earlier and take some pictures of that gorgeous sunrise..." So, I finally did it, ruined a perfect Saturday to sleep in by getting up and taking some pictures of the sunrise. Fortunately, the sunrise was pretty decent. I've got some good shots that I plan to edit and make into an HDR photo, so if you stay tuned, I may post one of those up here later this week! If you're lucky.

Oh yeah, I also got a chance to try out my new tripod! Worked nicely, though I felt like an idiot running around by the highway with this tripod and tiny camera at 6:00AM on a Saturday.

It was a fine day for sailing

This was taken during our honeymoon. We took a catamaran out to a shipwreck and to a popular sea turtle spot where we got to snorkel among the turtles as their greedy little stomachs were fed some chum. We also got to see a coral reef and finish up with a nice lunch on the boat.

And so it begins...

Well, today I have finally gotten around to creating a blog. After following my friend, Ryan Lynham's (I used to have a link to his blog here but since he's a big baby and won't make it public, you likely wont be able to view it, send all complaints to rlynham@msn.com) blog and seeing his picture postings for several months I have been encouraged to post my own pictures and life doings.

What I would like to do with this blog is mostly show off some pictures I have taken. I am still experimenting with photography and as such am not very good. I will be working towards improving my style and getting better at editing photos I have taken. For right now, most of the pictures you will see will be unedited/raw photos. I hope to start with a new photo a week.

I struggle with taking pictures of people, so most of my shots will be inanimate objects or nature scenes. I'm trying to change that. Feel free to send any comments/complaints my way.

...I just started looking at pictures trying to decide which one I wanted to start with, it's gotta be good, you know? I've got to come out with a bang. Oh well, here's a shot from a golf course near where I used to live.
